John Phelps

John and his wife Leslie reside in Lawson Bottoms in Cumberland County. John’s family settled into Lawson Bottoms in 1830 where he still farms and lives today. They have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

John is the former Judge Executive of Cumberland County serving from 2011-2022. John has held a Real Estate Sales Associate License for 15 years and has 19 years past experience in the banking industry. He has served on numerous Boards including the Lake Cumberland Housing Agency, Lake Cumberland Area Development District, Lake Cumberland District Health Department, Chamber of Commerce, Cumberland County Economic Development, Cumberland County Conservation District and Cumberland County Fair Board. He is a member of the Burkesville Baptist Church, Cumberland Lodge Masons, Kosair and Dale Hollow Shrine Club. He is a Local Government Consultant with EUDS Consulting, focusing on FEMA applicant assistance, disaster recovery, hazard mitigation, and engineering services.

John’s lifelong commitment to serving his community, leadership skills and numerous connections will make him a tremendous asset to Southern Nest. John’s heart to serve, vast knowledge of Cumberland and the surrounding counties and his experience will make him a phenomenal agent for his clients.

John’s objective is to lead a life that leaves our world a better place for his family and community, to grow and prosper and give back to his community as equally or more than he has been blessed to receive.
